Background
Prior to entering the legal field, Sunny received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles and worked as a digital marketing manager for health and beauty brands on accounts such as Proactiv, Nestlé, Target and Shiseido.
Sunny is a graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Law, where she had the opportunity to study for a semester at Bar Ilan University, in Ramat Gan, Israel with a focus on restorative justice. Sunny was awarded the Elihu Burritt Award, an award given to the student with the highest academic average in the semester abroad program.
Experience
While in law school, Sunny was a Dean’s Scholar, an Executive Editor for the Public Interest Law Journal, and a clinical student in her law school’s Asylum and Human Rights Clinic, where she helped her client obtain a grant of asylum. Sunny was also awarded the CALI Excellence Award for class performance in Legal Profession and Taxation of Native Americans. Sunny’s primary focus includes settlement negotiations and litigation of divorce, child custody and visitation, mediation, alimony/spousal support and child support, property division (including high asset and complex property issues), custody and alimony modifications, drafting and negotiation separation agreements, and prenuptial agreements, protective orders, and domestic violence cases, and adoptions
